The Canada-Nunavut Housing Benefit is Expanding!

Monthly financial help for homeowners.

Help with costs like utilities, insurance, deposits, and furniture.

The CNHB Homeowner Support Benefit addresses housing insecurity and affordability, providing essential financial support to Nunavummiut homeowners to assist them in sustaining homeownership. The benefit is provided directly to homeowners to help them afford their housing costs.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must own a home in Nunavut, occupy the home as their principal residence and have been a resident of Nunavut for at least one year.

Households below NHC’s income threshold.

Government of Nunavut (GN) employees eligible or receiving the Nunavut Housing Allowance (NHA) are ineligible for the CNHB Homeowner Benefit.

There will be one benefit per physical address.

You will need your latest CRA Income Tax Assessment ready, along with your current land lease.

In order to be eligible, applicants must be below the established income threshold based on the Income Required for Homeownership in the applicant's community.
